Pomodoro timer

Work in focused sprints, rest on purpose, repeat. This timer runs the classic cycle — 25 minutes of focus, then a 5-minute break — counts your completed rounds, and switches phases by itself with a tone for each. Adjust the lengths if you like; your settings are remembered on this device.

Focus
25:00.00
Round 0 completed

Different tones mark focus and break, so you can run it from across the room.

How the cycle runs

Press start and work on one task until the tone. That is one round. Take the full break — stand up, look at something far away — then the next round begins on its own. Many people stop after four rounds and take a longer rest; the counter under the clock keeps track so you do not have to. If a round is interrupted beyond repair, Reset clears the day and you start clean rather than pretending it counted.

Make the lengths yours

Twenty-five and five are the classic defaults, not a law. Shorter focus blocks (15–20 minutes) suit restless days or hard, dreaded tasks; longer ones (40–50) suit deep work once you are warmed up. Change the numbers above and the timer adopts them from the next phase — and remembers them here for your next visit, stored only in your browser. Prefer a single sprint without cycles? The 25 minute timer does exactly one round.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do during the break?
Anything that is not the task: move, drink water, look out of a window. Scrolling a feed tends to eat the next round’s focus, so keep breaks physical and boring.
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. Phases are scheduled from timestamps, so the switch from focus to break happens at the right moment even if the tab is hidden; the tone announces it.
Are my settings uploaded anywhere?
No. They are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device only.
Can I skip a phase?
Yes — Skip phase jumps straight to the next one, and skipping a focus phase does not add it to the completed-round count.
